SUMMARY:NEW YORK BRASS BAND 15/11/2024
DESCRIPTION:We are very excited to announce that the fantastic New York Brass Band are playing again at our next fundraising event on 15th November 2024.  By public demand\, after a sell out gig last year at the Milton Rooms\, we are going to do it again!  NYBB are a New Orleans inspired brass band and have played all over the world.  They have played at Glastonbury for the last 8 years\, and  celebrity parties and weddings for Danny Jones McFly\, Pixie Lot\, Ellie Goulding\, comedian Alex Brooker\, Liam Gallagher\, Joe Jordan\, Gordon McQueen and Jamie Oliver. \nThe band is a powerhouse 7/8-piece\, with a line-up of percussion\, sax\, trumpets\, trombones\, guitar and sousaphone.  Hailing from the ancient streets of York\, the band was formed by James Lancaster in 2010 and the are at the forefront of a funky brass revolution that is sweeping the UK. Inspired by Rebirth Brass Band\, Soul Rebels\, Hot 8\, Youngblood and Brassroots\, NYBB pack a powerful punch of relentless drums\, rumbling tuba and wailing horns… nothing kicks a party into gear like the sound of a smokin’ New Orleans Mardi Gras Jazz Band \nWe also have the Ryedale Stray Notes who are opening the show.  This 25 piece band is packed full of talented young musicians ready to raise the roof! \nIn the words of New York Brass Band \nWE BRING THE PARTY TO YOU! \nTickets only £15!  Buy your tickets HERE \nALL PROCEEDS ARE DONATED TO ACORN COMMUNITY CARE \n

SUMMARY:CHARITY MOTORCYCLE RIDE
DESCRIPTION:Revving for a Cause: Charity Motorcycle Ride Across the Yorkshire Wolds \nThis year marks the inaugural Charity Motorcycle Ride\, an event organized to support Acorn Community Care\, a remarkable charity based on the outskirts of Malton. Acorn’s dedication to providing care and support to adults with learning and physical disabilities has touched many lives\, and this ride serves as a celebration of their invaluable work.  Starting from Whinflower Hall in Norton\, riders will embark on a journey across the beautiful Yorkshire Wolds\, a route much loved by bikers. \nFollowing the ride\, you will return to Whinflower Hall where there will be an evening of entertainment.  There will be a fully licenced bar\, food available and a stage with bands organised by local biker\, tattooist and events promoter Steve ‘Sowy’ Southwick. Sowy is very well known for putting on some fantastic music events.  It’s not just a ride; it’s a day of camaraderie and making a difference.  Together\, let’s make this annual event a cherished tradition\, celebrating the beauty of the Yorkshire Wolds while making a lasting impact on the lives of others. \nThere are two ways to get involved: \n\n\n\n\n\nBecome a Sponsor: You can download the sponsorship form and get started with a minimum of £50. Not only does this get you free entry to the event\, but you’ll also score five free raffle tickets for a chance to win one of our famous horseshoe/scrap metal sculpture. And guess what? The more sponsorship money you raise\, the more raffle tickets you earn. It’s a win-win!\nMake a Donation: If sponsoring for the ride isn’t your thing\, you can still join the fun by making a donation. For a donation between £25 and £50\, you’ll gain entry to the music event\, click here.  Once you’re in\, enjoy the licensed bar\, delicious food\, and rock out to live music. Raffle tickets are available for the horseshoe/scrap metal sculptures.  All made in our welding workshop they are unique pieces of artwork.  From life size eagles and horses to a 1.5 metre high Tyrannosaurus Rex!  It’s a fantastic way to contribute and have a blast at the same time.\n\nSo\, whether you’re in it for the raffle prizes or just want to enjoy some great music and good vibes\, there’s a way for everyone to get involved.
